Name: Christy Birthday: 10/19/1986 Gender: Female
Interests: My dream is to be a nurse and travel the world or at least the U.S. as a missionary. I want to share all about Jesus, my best friend and Savior, and how AWESOME He is, and how He wants to know you personally too! I hope to do this through medical missions trips, but if God has another plan, that's cool too. God dreams a lot bigger than I do, so I guess if He has different ideas, I won't mind much.

| Well I'm off! In less than 12 hours I will be in San Fransico for
my training before I leave with the rest of the team to embark on an
adventure to East Asia! I can't believe it! I'm incredibly
excited! God's hand of provision has been so great. He
never ceases to amaze me and I am humbled by His love and the love of
all my close friends shown to me these past two weeks.
Thanks for all your support guys! Okay, enough sappiness.
Here I am in my basement trying to burn all my CD's onto an MP3 so I
don't have to carry more than 10 CD's with me everywhere. Why
didn't I do this a long time ago? It's terribley convinient and
if your CD gets scratched you can just burn another one.
Highlights of my week
1) I went to a medical conference with my Dad last weekend! It was AMAZING! They treated me like a doctor and
I learned a TON! I can't wait till theses medical education
things are a regular part of my schedule. (I know I'm a dork )
2) Getting the Typhoid and Hep B vaccines (this was NOT really a
highlight...I cried because I was afraid it would hurt my stomach more)
3) Walking to Dillians (which is farther from my house than I thought)
in scorching weather with Anna and Amy and upon reaching our
destination we were so exhausted we rented a movie, bought icecream and
called Mark to come pick us up. Poor "James" he's not even a paid
chaffeur...although we did offer him an icecream sandwich.
There were more, but my post is already long enough. Miss me a lot while I'm gone!

| I just got a call saying my visa into Belarus was denied. Please pray that I will get it!

| Ashley High and I watched Mission Impossible 1. It really made me want to go out and watch MI:3.
I got an A in my Microbiology class! Yes! I went to my nursing orientation on Monday too. I though it was cool the way the second year students came to make us feel welcome and answer our questions in small groups since we might be intimidated by the teachers (they were right!) I am a little overwelmed and I have to get 6 vaccinations, a doctors exam, and go to the dentist before I can start school in August. This is going to be a fun summer. Lol, just kidding. I do have to study for two tests though. I guess it's so I don't waste my life this summer.
I applied for a non-existent job at Menorah hospital though. They weren't hiring, but I sent in an application and my resume anyways hoping they'll hire me. I'll probably start applying elsewhere though.
Plans for the summer
1) Eat sleep and relax!
2) Spend more time with God
3) Go to Belarus in July
4) Prepare for nursing school
5) Work as a CNA
6) Play lots of soccer
7) Eat lot's of frozen peas, frozen blueberries, and frozen greenbeans.
8) Do wheelies in my '91 Corrolla
9) Go skydiving
10) Read lot's and lot's and lot's of books!
An ammendment has been made to my previous entry: Skydiving and reading lot's and lot's of books may be simply wishful thinking rather than dates on my actual calendar. | | |
| (this could be long )
1) I'M IN THE NURSING PROGRAM!!!! Yes! Two more years at JCCC studying bacteria, diseases, and having more fun than anyone should be allowed to have in college!
2) This is my last semester fencing, for a lot of reasons. Please pray that I handle a delicate situation with my Coach, and pray for him to become a Christian and not to harden his heart. I want to leave in a way that glorifies God to the highest extent, and not in one that ruins the witness my friends and I have had there for the past three years.
3) My tests on my stomach all came back negative. So on medical standards "I'm fine." I really wanted to be infected with Helicobactor pylori...sigh...
4) Gas prices are going up...this is not good
5) English Camp in Belarus was cancelled. I'm still going to Belarus, but it's going to be a lot different, a lot less structured, and definitely a lot less "official". Hey all my Belerussian translator friends, I am praying for you! I know this is a hard and discouraging time, don't lose heart!
Galations 6: 9 Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not lose heart.
If you want to know politicallly what is going on in Belarus, check this site out. http://www.xanga.com/tanyavip
6) finals, tests, papers...and more finals test, papers, and projects...is anyone relating
So that's been most of what's going on right now. And though a lot of that stuff is discouraging, and physically I'm doing worse, I am doing incredibly well. God is AMAZING! When I am weak, then am I strong! Yes! Life in Christ is never boring! If you want a thrill, pray for character training and hang on to Him for dear life! Seriously though, I have been pondering the coolest thing. Ten millions years from now, when I'm in heaven with Jesus, and my family, and my Christian friends, and I'm reaping uncomprehendible rewards for service here on earth that I so don't deserve...then...well, a few struggles don't seem that tramatic. For we do not live as those who have no hope. Christ was able to survive the crucifixiton and many other horrible things because He fixed His eyes on the Joy set before Him. We should do the same!

| I had a colonoscopy today. That was fun. I skipped classes to go. Yah for demerol and other happy drugs! I'm still a little "out" of it...incase you couldn't tell. I see more tests in my future. My doctor seemed concerned, and my mom is worried. We'll see. I should find out in a week. I'm not worried; over the last two years I've learned to trust God completely. He is good no matter what happens! Actually, it was kind of fun, though. Towards the end I started to wake up a little and I could see the inside of my body on the monitor. That was cool, and afterwards my doctor let me look at the pictures. Even sweeter! The only downside to those happy drugs is that I can't remember much afterwards...bummer. On the upside I have really good blood pressure.
